Loadbinders are the mechanism use to tighten chain that is being used to secure heavy machinery to the back of low loaders. Typically if a machine is bigger than 5 ton the driver will secure the machine using chains rather than ratchet straps.
We stock two types of loadbinders, the Ratchet type and Overcentre type. An overcentre or lever-type of load binder is made up of a simple lever, with a tension hook on each end. You use the lever to increase the force that is applied to the tie-down chain, you do this by pulling (hard) on the lever to close the lever in on itself. They require the person installing the binder to apply a relatively high manual force in order for it to tighten up and secure the chain properly.
