Here at HTS we have been working hard to reduce our carbon footprint and the negative impact we make on the environment.
One of the major changes we have made recently is to cut down the amount of single-use plastic in our packaging by nearly 98%! We have replaced plastic air bubbles with recycled, shredded card. This not only cuts down on the plastic we use but also means we reuse all the card we have coming into the warehouse. Although this process has proved to be a lot more labour intensive than using the old, traditional plastic packaging we are confident this move will have a major impact in moving us toward being a carbon neutral company.
The other change we are happy to have made is to ban single use plastic water bottles in the office! All staff are now encouraged to use one of our HTS reusable water bottles. This is another small step, but all helps in massively reducing our waste and the negative impact this waste has on the environment around us.
