1989, the year it all began. We started life as a small workshop and shop in Dorking - Surrey, selling and servicing tractors and farm machinery to local farmers and landowners.
During the 90’s we continued to grow our presence in the South East serving farms right across the region from Hampshire to Kent. We focused very much on the agricultural market supping a whole range of products from Engine parts to Plough metal. As an agent for Vapormatic, Shell Oils, SIP, Robin and Britax to name a few our reputation rapidly grew as a supplier of choice offering great value and service.
The late 90’s saw an ever-increasing number of customers join us who were not farmers but operated and hired construction equipment. Our range of products ‘changed direction’ and we saw the introduction of items such as flat face couplings and beacons.
In the year 2000 we launched our first ever catalogue to the Plant Hire Market. With 134 pages this was a far cry to the catalogue of today in both size and quality, but it certainly made an impact! Our presence in the market grew at a pace and we spread out across the country forging partnerships with customers from Helston up to Wick!
By 2006 our rapid expansion meant we had outgrown our base in Dorking, so we moved the distribution into a new purpose-built warehouse and offices in Hereford.
2012 saw the launch of our first website – htsspares.com was born!
2017 saw another huge change to the company with the acquisition of the London based filter specialist Commercial & Plant. This great move meant we were able to add over 50 years of unrivalled filter knowledge and expertise to the team, broadening our range and offering even greater levels of service.
The past 30 years at HTS have been both hugely enjoyable and very rewarding. Many of the team who joined in the 90’s are still with us and we are still serving many of the same customers we were back then! We have had the privilege of working with thousands of great people and companies along our journey and we look forward to working with thousands more in the next 30 years to come!
